Water Polo in Cheltenham 2011

The Water Polo section of the club has a long history of team success at national and regional levels across all age groups.   Recent club achievements include:

Senior Men's  

• First team finished fourth in British Water Polo League Division 1 so qualify to enter LEN tournament in Europe in 2011
• Second team finished 2010/11 top in Bristol and West League
• Pedigree of national and international players from captain of 1956 Olympic water polo team to current members of the senior GB squad.

Junior Men's (born 1993 or younger)

• Winners of Birmingham and Midlands league 2011
• South West Regional Champions
• 3 Cheltenham players in the Welsh National Junior squad
• Fifth in National Age Group Championships in 2011

Youth Men's (born 1995 or younger)

• South West Regional Champions
• Runners up in National Age Group Championships 2011
• 8 Cheltenham players currently training with GB squad

Women's Water Polo (New team started in 2010)

• 15 members of the women's squad, now playing friendly fixtures with neighbouring teams.
• Two Cheltenham players representing GB at Senior and Junior levels and one is part of the Welsh National Youth squad.

Academy (born 1997 or younger)

Large squad of younger players (both boys and girls) who play mini polo and have lots of FUN
